Last week invited Stevie's family over for meal. We spent almost 3 hours to prepare all the food and cook the meal. Since we are cooking dishes that we have already cooked previously, we can estimate the time required and was able to cook quite confidently.
This week we invited my family over. Wanted to try western food this time round. Decided on the menu for the night 2 weeks ago and any recipe that i required i have already save them in the notebook and looking through them, everything seems quite simple and easy. On average each dish only take probably 15 mins to cook and the chicken just need to throw into the over and after 30mins to 45 min should be done.
That is what i thought!! But i ended up preparing and cooking the food since 1.30pm in the afternoon until 6pm. The food was relatively easy to cook. It was the preparation part that is taking a long long time. Soo many garlic, parsley, veg, etc etc to cut up.
Well, at least the food wasn't too bad....err at least that was what i think.

A tired Weekend
A tired tired week.
Stevie's family came over for dinner.
First time cooking for the family in our new home.
Cooked up a feast...some of the dishes were salty and lucky ah ma did not complain.
After the hard work, of course it is time to pamper myself and it is shopping time
Bought 4 skirts and 1 shirt....which only cost $150 in total.....woo hoo...
Next week Mum coming over for dinner as well...what should i cook??
Zhi Ann is being choosy over his food now....luckily sis will be preparing his food...i definitely cannot satisfy such a harsh food critic....
Another shopping spree next week too.....hahaha
Timber @ subway with the gals
Had a great chill out time @ timbre. Listening to the live band, eating, drinking and chatting.....
My first time at Timbre and not a too bad experience. We were all clueless how to get there and no one actually went to check cos we all believe that the cab drivers in sg are all very very resourceful. In the end, we got off the cab and walk to timbre instead. We were there around 7 plus and the place is already full. Luckily, we only waited for about 30mins and were in before 8pm.
We were all dead hungry by then and ordered immediately. The food is not too bad for a pub. Thought the place will be hot since it is open-air and there is no aircon but it is not too bad....although it is a bit warm but no sweat even after eating the very spicy chicken wings. The open air environment also help with the very loud band. Usually in pubs, the band music is so loud in the confined space, there is no chance of chatting while the band is on. But we were able to chat and enjoy the music.

A Pinch of Salt
A very very cold and wet Saturday.
Met up with the gals for some sunshine and sea breeze. The sky looks grey but we still decided to go on with our plans. And 30 mins, it started pouring. Luckily we were near the hawker centre and decide to go there to seek shelter. 1 hour later we are still stuck...not too good a day for doing sports.
Since there is nothing left to do and with our pathetic wet hair and clothes, we decide to head for katong and visit the cafe which i have been wanting to go. Such a dreamy place which brings u back to childhood. The great things is that there is not a lot of people in the cafe and we just took the liberty to do what we want....taking photos....
The food is not great...but it is a good chill out place since it is not crowded.
Peach Garden @ OCBC 33
Went for another round of Dim sum this week to celebrate Dad, brother-in-law and brother birthday.
And to my relief, Peach Garden is not too bad. After having Dim Sum at Hai Tien Lou last week, i was soo worried that Peach Garden won't be nice and maybe i should just stick to our usual Dim Sum place. Some forums are saying that Peach Garden is no match for Hai Tien Lou...and frankly after eating Peach garden i have no idea what they are talking about.
Although Peach garden is not fantastic, it is not a disappointment either. The place is relatively quiet because it is in the CBD area and no one comes to CBD on a saturday, making it a very private affair with family.
Tian Fu Steamboat
Finally the wedding is over and we can go eat the long awaited buffet.
First buffet after the wedding, we went for Tian Fu steamboat. It's been very long since my last steamboat buffet. The last time i had steamboat buffet is along Liang Seah street. I loved steamboat because i can chose the food i like and cook it and it has rubbish food such as all the fishballs, sotong balls, prawn balls, luncheon meat, sausages, etc. Boss must be happy since i eat all the cheap stuffs. But most steamboat buffets are a bit unhygienic. Most of the time the food are all pile up and those the bottoms are all soak with "water".....spoil my appetite.
On the way .....
With strong recommendation, we went to Tian Fu. The variety of food that they have is usual to other steamboat with a few surprises. They have "sea hum" and pig stomach...my favorite. Not to mentioned, it is ala carte buffet so the dishes are served only when we order and the food is displayed in a nice manner and looks a lot more clean than the other food that are served elsewhere.
