Canele

After Singapore Flyer, we were all very tired. My foot is full of blister after the long walk to the flyer so we took the shuttle bus to City Hall. Just want to find a place with cushion so that Nicole can sleep and we can eat comfortable. Chance upon Canele and since we have not been to the place, it is a good place to rest as well as try something new.



We ordered chowder soup and it came with 3 different kinds of bread. Yummy!! The soup came in quite a big portion and the bread...is crispy with olive oil aroma. No need butter is also ok...but as usual i luv my bread and butter.



For main, we shared a marinara spaghetti. Not sure whether it is because the person knows we are sharing but the portion given is big. Spaghetti is really nice. Usually i would chose cream based over tomato based but the tomato is good.

Dessert is very sweet. The Caramel and sugar is all over the place. The crepes and nutella is addictive. Sharing between 2 person is just right. I will puke if i were to eat this by myself.

And...we did!! Janice went back twice again and i went back once.

This time we tried the bake rice and the crepes as main. Prefer the dessert crepes with nutella and ice-cream. For the dessert we had 99%, which is dark chocolate ice-cream. Very Yummy as it is abit bitter. My fav kind of chocolate.

Singapore Flyer

My first time to singapore flyer.

Janice got free tickets so we were are able to go.

Paying $30 plus is just too expensive as are not tourist.

The ride is very slow and we cannot feel that we are even moving. But it is an enjoyable ride. At least nicole is not shouting, the flyer did not get stuck, etc. It will be much nicer at night with all the night lights.

Oscar Dinner Buffet

Finally, get to eat my long long awaited buffet!!

After, janice give birth, after all the many problems that needs to be settled, after my diet, after my wedding photoshot, etc etc....we finally get to eat buffet!!

Choose the Oscar after searching in the web for a nice buffet spread that have seafood and nice dessert. Additional plus a good bargain, it's under UOB promo (4 for the price of 3!!)

First the seafood session. My favourite session, crayfish, prawns, mussels, scampi, salmon, tuna, swordfish sashimi and 8 different oysters. Luved the scampi and oysters....i can have many many more but my tummy just won't give in. Further more, Raye cannot stand me eating anymore oysters...she feel like vommiting.

Salad: many many choice of veg. But not my fav kind of food.

Cooked food session: nothing very interesting. seems like lamb feast. The lamb is nice though but not interested in second helping.

Noodles session: not interested too. Tried the laksa, fish noodles, prawn noodles, bat kut teh.

Dessert: the gals fav session. Ice-cream, waffles, cakes.

Can't wait for my next buffet session!!

My First Health Screening

Went for my first health screening yesterday!

Don't know what to expect but it is a fun day with many laughter.

Jacq couldn't go last min and very glad that Jan can come along otherwise it could be quite scary.

Thought the whole situation will be quite awkward but the lady doc and nurses are soo friendly and really put me at ease.

Had to draw blood twice (Double Ouch!!) as the blood vein in my right arm is not giving enough blood to do the tests.

Then the doc have to answer all my stupid questions, which only a secondary school student should be asking. But I'm no bio student and discovery channel don't seems to touch on these subjects.

Made to drink many cups of water for the Ultra-sound. Already drank 10 cups of water but the doc did a trial and say i have to drink more and only stop when i want to vomit. In the end, i think i drank over 20++ cups of water. It is the first time i drank soo much water in 1 day!

Well, result will be out in few weeks and hopefully the results are good.

Embarrassing Blading experience

Has been awhile since i took out my blades, which are lying in the store room generating cobwebs.

My poor blades.....less than 1 hour, the wheels cracked.



Just my luck as we were near the blading store and i thought i could get the wheels changed and continue.

Was abit embarrassed when i handed over the blades to the guy as my wheels are in terrible shape. They were covered with sands, which is a big NO NO.

But well, thought i should just get it over and done with. Until the guy say "wheel 74mm??" Then, i know something worst is coming out of his mouth. "Now, no more 74mm already. Only 72 and 76mm." Thought i can just dig a hole and hide. Not only i did a bad job at maintaining my blades, i'm still carrying such a old model blade.

Well, luckily he didn't suggest i need to change the blade. Just need to see which wheel size can fit my blades.

9th week into Renovation

Renovation begins again.

After making payment to my ID, the renovation seems to move again.

Well, only money makes the world go round.

This sentence is soo true.

A person can never change

Good news that mummy is fine now and back to her usual self.

After the operation, mum is quite weak
She talks, nag and complain less.
The frequent argument with dad is almost none and the house was in harmony.

This week, mum strength is back and her old self is coming back
She is again active in her Kapo-ness and poking her nose into things that are not her business.

Even in the hospital while mum is recovering, she cannot help but poke her nose into other business. There is an old lady that is sharing the room with mum. For a few days, she had no visitors and only a maid taking care of her. One night, the old lady cried (not sure it is due to pain or sadness). Mum started to chat her and discovered she have 5 sons. Mum was soo angry she called one of the sons and scolded him for not coming to visit. The next day, the son came to hospital to visit.

Most of the time I cannot stand mum for her naggings and kapo-ness and insistence that she is always right. But I guess sometimes something good can come out of it.

Crab at Still Road

We had Crab for dinner over the weekend.
Mother's day is around the corner, as usual, Stevie plans to buy crab for dinner.
We were deciding where we should get the crabs from.
I insisted to get the crabs from Still Road.
A bit selfish since the crabs are not only for me but I have not had nice crabs for a long long time.

Previously, we have been trying crabs from other stalls and the crabs were quite disappointing.
The flesh of the crabs were either powdery or it sticks to the shell of the crabs.
Not going to pay so much money to get another disappointing experience.

Bought 4 crabs this time round.
And the crabs were finger licking good.

Loved the pepper and butter.
It tasted so good I had another serving of rice (and I hate eating rice) just to go with the black pepper sauce!! Hot Stuff!!
